  1. Hello,

I am strugling with the same sin over and over again. It seems as though it has become an addiction. No, its not drugs, drinking, or smoking. My problem arrises from what I would say is an sex addiction. I have the constant desire to fantisize and masterbate on a regular basis. I know the Bible says, ” Ask and believe that you are forgiven and the Lord is faithful and just to forgive our sins.” But it also says to ” Turn from that sin” I am scared that I may be headed for a direct path to hell. I keep going to God in prayer because I feel like even though I commited the same sin He will still forgive me. I refuse to accept hell as my destination and give up. I do not want to keep sinning against God, His Word, My family, and my self. I know God has tried to help me on numerious occasions but it is I that ignored Him and sined anyway. I want to stop this sin and live for God but keep finding myself back at the same place. Can you please pray for me and this oppression that I may be under. I don’t want to remain blind with my sins and miss my chance to go to heaven. That is if it is not to late already.

    1. What you are struggling with in not unique. You are not alone in that weakness. While his struggles may have been different, I think of Paul in chapter 7 of Romans where the great apostle struggles with the flesh. He then states in Romans 8:1 that there is no condemnation for those in Christ. I think God sometimes lets us struggle with sin at times to teach us about grace. His grace is sufficient for your sins. If you have trusted in Christ alone for forgiveness, you are secure in His grip. Remember when Peter asked Jesus how many times he must forgive someone, thinking his answer of 7 times was quite impressive. Jesus say to forgive 70 times 7. Christ shows the abundance of His grace and mercy towards those saints who struggle with the flesh. You will, as you learn to trust in His grace, find your self growing in sanctification. I also do not want to minimize the import of your sin. It is, well, sin. I think it is important to immerse yourself in the Word. It is important to go to your knees in prayer over this issue. It is important to remove from yourself any images or situations that may prompt you towards this sin. It does grieve the Spirit. That being said, it is not too late for you. His grace is sufficient for you sins and I will pray for you.
