Somewhat  quirky and prone to bouts of  melancholia. Well read, tastelessly opinionated, and pasta fueled… a saddle tramp.  I have not yet discovered my super powers, but when I do I will use them for good, not evil.

  1. Ron, thank you for bringing laughter to my day. I LOVE the pictures and references from Star Trek Voyager and the Evil Emperor, et al.

I find it curious that you use so much Latin on your website, given that Calvin would think it rather ‘papist’ of you:)?

All the best and Blesssings, Michael.

  2. Hi Michael,

Glad you enjoyed the post(s)! As far as the Latin, I have no anchor in Catholic, or papist, theology as I understand it; I just like the look and sound of Latin. Sounds kinda smart to bandy about phrases in dead languages now and again 😉

Too, “simul justus et peccator” (righteous and at the same time a sinner) is a quote, if memory serves, from Luther and, not surprisingly, conforms rather well to Reformed theology.

    In His grip,

    Ron

  3. Hi, I was reading a blog for the first time, and noticed you were from Simpsonville. I used to live in Powderhorn, and my brothers still live there. I live in the Columbia area.

  4. Hello, just found your site. Heard your interview with “Fighting the Faith.” Very interesting. I wanted to read the article “Seeker Sensitive Wilderness” but can not find it. I am in my own struggle with finding a Christ honoring church. I also live in the up-sate and was wondering if you have found a church. Could you give some direction on this?
    Thanks
    Shane

  5. Ron,

I can’t believe that it took me so long to find your blog. I see that you are taking a break… but i will save a link just in case you come back.

I pray that God is working on your heart and mind, and may you palpably feel the hands and the presence of God.

    +1

  7. Hello,

I don’t know if others have mentioned it already. But there is a typo in the subtitle of your blog. It should read “sola scriptura”, not “sola scritura”.
